The network of units performing tasks at the specialist level has not changed, and this results from the analysis of threats and the number of interventions undertaken by these units in the field of chemical and ecological rescue. On the other hand, the approach to the basic scope is evolving, the number of entities implementing the basic level is expanding to include new units of TSO KSRG.

      The 20th Science and Training Conference in Spała was an opportunity to meet firefighters specializing in technical and chemical rescue. The participants of the event had the opportunity to exchange experiences and opinions on practical activities in the everyday work of a firefighter.
    • The impact of vehicle design on the injuries of injured persons and the activities of rescue services (24)
      The design of the vehicle is one of the most important criteria influencing the condition of injured persons and the choice of access and evacuation techniques for rescued rescuers. Just as body structures and individual safety solutions for car passengers are subject to change, the tactics of rescue operations during road accidents should also be updated.
    • Techniques for the evacuation of injured persons during CBRNE / HAZMAT incidents (33)
      Evacuation of injured persons is a key element in managing a CBRNE / HAZMAT incident. There are many methods that can be used to effectively move the casualty from a danger zone to a relatively safe zone and then to healthcare facilities. These solutions allow to reduce the physical effort of rescuers, reduce traumatization of the injured and secondary contamination, and shorten the evacuation time over longer distances.
    • Techniques of technical rescue: car on wheels - part I (44)
      Rescue techniques discussed in publications, training sessions or exercises are most often presented in three parts - actions with a car on wheels, on its side and on the roof. The simultaneous implementation of all these elements may cause certain limitations in the acquisition of knowledge and new skills. In order to avoid having to focus on multiple techniques at once, attention will first be paid to rescue techniques used in vehicles following an incident on wheels. This is to remind the most used ones, but also to broaden the knowledge about them. Possible alternatives that can be used when other activities fail will also be addressed.

      A petrol station - despite the belief that it is a very fire hazardous place - is often a shelter for burning cars. This is mainly due to the fact that two 25 kg powder units are required at the service station, which have a much higher extinguishing efficiency than the 1 kg BC powder extinguisher in a car. However, apart from this information - in this article I would like to share with the Readers knowledge in a very niche field, which is the knowledge of petrol stations.
    • Organization of the rescue operation management structure at the intervention level (60)
      Awareness of the fire-fighting community about the principles of organization of the operation management structures or other rescue operation should be at the highest possible level. The article presents an outline of the whole issue with emphasis on the intervention level, which, as the most frequently introduced at the scene of the incident, is a good example for constructive deliberations on improving the functionality of the solutions proposed by the legislator.
    • Use of unmanned aerial vehicles during emergency releases of flammable gases, in particular LNG - lessons learned (68)
      The article presents possible emergency scenarios during events involving LNG, taking into account the participation of unmanned aerial vehicles during reconnaissance. The identified threats that may occur during the flight with the use of UAVs were collected. In the summary, the division of duties for the drone operator and his camera was recommended.

      The use of drones for rescue and search operations offers great opportunities. The article presents the course of exercises with the use of drones carried out at the SGSP training ground and presents examples of techniques for using the potential of drones in the activities of the fire brigade.
