  • Leadership as a basic process in an occupational health and safety management system (14)
Attempts to both define leadership and identify the characteristics and behaviors that characterize effective leaders have been made for many years, and the discussion in this area continues to this day. The article presents, based on the literature research in this area, various approaches to leadership in OSH and to the assessment of its effectiveness. However, there is no one effective style of leadership, no one universal method for assessing the effectiveness of management commitment in this area. • New technologies and e-competences in the assessment of people with visual disabilities (18)
New technologies are currently used in many areas of life, also by people with various disabilities or limitations. In the case of people with visual disabilities, they play a very important role, because they give a sense of independence, facilitate communication, work and study. In order to determine the use of new technologies and the self-assessment of digital competences among people with visual disabilities, face-to-face interviews were conducted. These people believe that digital competences in the modern world are extremely useful and, above all, they enable them to lead an independent life. The results of the analysis of the conducted interviews indicate a fairly high self-assessment of e-competences in this group, however, despite the opportunities created by new technologies, these tools are not always used in the everyday life of people with visual disabilities.

When analyzing the educational use of computer technologies, we mean a wide range of related possibilities, such as the introduction of modern forms of distance learning, activating teaching methods (based on independent action) or multimedia teaching aids. The educational usefulness of computer and multimedia technologies is the greater the more they affect the perceptual-intellectual and emotional-motivational spheres. Thanks to them, it is possible to meet the principle of multilateral education, according to which knowledge transfer should take place through many channels: in the language of images, sounds, symbols and actions. The use of computer technologies promotes the development of abstract thinking and allows us to get to know reality more accurately.
