  • Can optical radiation from virtual and augmented reality devices pose a health risk? (12)
Virtual and augmented reality devices are increasingly used not only for entertainment purposes, but also as elements supporting training and rehabilitation. Considering the development of this technology in recent years, it can be assumed that in the near future these devices will become part of some jobs. However, to ensure the safety of employees using virtual and augmented reality devices, make sure that they do not pose a threat to human health, and in particular, do not cause eye damage or circadian rhythm disturbances related to optical radiation emitted by displays.
  • Comparison of selected biomechanical parameters of people after a fall and those who did not fall (17)
The article describes research on people in the 60-67 age group. Their aim was: firstly - to compare selected biomechanical parameters (i.e. parameters of walking, eye-hand coordination, muscle strength and the ability to maintain balance) of people after a fall and people who did not fall, and secondly - to indicate those parameters that may have an influence on a greater tendency to fall. Meanwhile, the differences between the parameters obtained for both studied groups turned out to be small and statistically insignificant.
  • Sound-absorbing and insulating housings for ultrasonic devices, reducing the level of noise penetrating into the environment. The results of own research (22)
The article discusses the technical solutions of sound-absorbing and insulating casings for devices that are sources of ultrasonic noise. Due to the health risk of employees operating ultrasonic technological devices and the fact that they are close to these devices, it is necessary to use an effective measure to reduce this risk, i.e. soundproofing and insulating housings. So far, however, neither the rules for the use of such housings nor the soundproofing and soundproofing properties of their materials have been defined in this frequency range. The article presents the results of own research on the impact of the materials used to make the housings, the lining used and the presence of openings in the housings on the level of noise emitted by ultrasonic devices that penetrates into the environment.
