      The presented article aims to present the contemporary situation of foster care in the Czech Republic. This situation contributes to the emergence of dilemmas based on completely new professional issues in the system of supporting families and children living outside the family home. Children should have the opportunity to shape and develop their personality, but this process can be disturbed in their family home. The dilemmas presented may be a threat or a chance for a good start in adult life for children.

      This study aimed to check whether the SOC strategy is related to subjective indicators of successful aging (positive emotions, life satisfaction, lack of a sense of loneliness) also for Polish seniors. The commonly used scales in the Polish version were used to measure the indicators.

      The article is a review work. First, it shows the problems that informal carers must face when entering and functioning in a new role for themselves. Secondly, it was pointed out that non-independent seniors in the so-called the late phase of old age does not have to be only at home and be exposed to social exclusion. They can also stay active.

      The article aims to present the theory of intersections, embedding within broader scientific discourses, and justifying its use in the area of social work. In particular, it is about looking at the possibility of its adaptation to the curricula in the field of social work based on the experience of academicians, described in the literature of the subject, as well as the didactic and research experiences of the author. There will also be an attempt to evaluate these possibilities and adapt to the conditions of the curricula in the field of social work. The text presents the results of research inspired by the theory of intersections, which consisted in the analysis of twenty student essays using an analytical tool derived from the Theory of Legitimization Codes.

      The aim of the article is to present an innovative idea for working with people "without a home", through the tool, which is the "Domni - Homeless" box. This tool is designed to help people "without a home" to get out of homelessness, as well as to help them meet their basic needs emerging on the way to life stabilization.
    • Supporting family - a dedicated form of support for families with care and educational problems (144)
      The aim of the article is to present the main assumptions and solutions regarding the functioning of the supporting family. Tasks and the process of recruitment and establishing a supporting family will be presented. The role of the social assistance center in the implementation of this form of assistance activities will also be indicated, which can significantly contribute to increasing the efficiency of social and educational work with the family. Examples of "good practices" will be presented, similar in their assumptions to the idea of a supporting family, implemented by non-governmental organizations.
